Hephs going off to Latvia for four days with a friend from church on saturday. He's not been away without me since he has had esrf and we have not been on a plane!

I'm not freaking out, but I guess I am a little nervous! We have had to get a letter from our doctor to say he is fit to travel and that yes, he really does need all those bags of fluid.

He is sometimes a bit forgetful and forgets to take meds and do exchanges without constant reminding. Do you think without being reminded he will just do it because maybe at home he doesn't think about it because he knows I will remind him? I really want him to have a great time and I don't want to spend my whole weekend worrying.

OK, will the titanium connector on the cath set of the alarms on those walk through metal detector things?

Is is hard to get through customs with all the equiptment?

Do you worry when your spouse goes away without you, that they will remember their meds etc?

Ahhhhhhh!!!!!

I guess lots of  :wine; might help me lighten up a little.....  :yahoo;

I can't help you with the travel questions but I did want to say that YES I do worry when Joe is not home because honestly he doesn't follow the rules about eating and meds and stuff (he's diabetic so I've been worrying long before dialysis came around).  Hopefully Heph will be responsible while he's gone.  Is it an option for you to call him once or twice a day for reminders?

Those are valid questions HLL. I can't help you. I guess you gotta trust Heph to do the responsible thing, you don't wanna call and have him get upset and ruin his vacation!!! Have another drink. :wine;  As for the other stuff, well, anyone out there know?

Hi H.L.L.  Honey, i worry about my hubby as soon as he walks out that door no matter where he is going. that is perfectly natural.  All you can do is drill him of the importance of taking care of himself, especially when he is going to be far away from his neph.  4 days isnt too bad, i am sure he will be ok.  :clap;

I haven't flown with dialysis supplies, and I don't know what you're security is like in the UK, but when I flown in the US with my insulin pump and supplies it's been great.  As soon as I say, "I'm wearing an insulin pump" the bag searching stops and they're rushing me through the line.  It's as if they are afraid I might melt if they keep me there.

I hope Heph has a good, and safe, trip.

Not too sure how the airports are over there, but i remember hearing Ellen DeGeneres say that each passenger is only allowed a certain amount of liquid.  She made the remark due to the fact that she had to fill little bottles of shampoo.  That's all the info i have, i think to be on the safe side, you should call the airport and explain Heph's situation and see if he needs a Dr.'s note or something..  ::)

we contacted the company we are flying with and were told no weight limit on medical supplies and because they are medical they are free to fly, so today I got a cover note from my Gp(doctor) which says "Heph is fit to fly and has a weird tube sticking out of his tummy, which has metal parts"

So hopefully all should be hassle free.

im slightly excited about this trip  :yahoo;  :bandance; :clap; :2thumbsup;  :ukflag;  :waving;

Heph, great news, glad you got that all covered and your good to go,  oh, and just a suggestion, you might not want to show too much excitement about this trip or the Little Lady isnt going to let you go, lol,  ::)

 :2thumbsup; Heph's trip is going really well. He had no problems at security at the airport and he's having a great time. He's called me the past two days around 5.30am.  :banghead; Not good! I don't do so well at that time, I think all I managed to say was I love you repeatedly because my brain doesn't function at such an unwholesome hour!

As for what one does in Latvia? Yesterday they were speaking at a church and spending the day with christian friends. Today they are sightseeing,  :pics; although I don't really know what the sights of Latvia are, all Heph keeps saying is, it is a very beautiful country. Tonight they will speak at another church and tomorrow they will come home.  :bandance; :yahoo; :yahoo; :yahoo; :yahoo; :yahoo; :bandance;

Not that i'm excited or anything!  :yahoo;

I've had a lovely few days and haven't really worried after all. Yesterday I went to an art exhibition with friends and went out to lunch, it was really lovely. Today I have pampered myself, had a long, hot bath, a facial, done my nails, etc, etc, etc, and now i'm going to curl up on the couch with a good book and a tub of ice cream.  :beer1;

 :yahoo;  So glad that both of you had a 4-day break and enjoyed your time.  By the way , my new jewelry arrived in great time, 5 days only!!
It is absolutely lovely, I wore both to work and a meeting and got many compliments on them.  The dangling earrings are great and I simply love how the bracelet slips on and stays in place, with no fiddling with a closure!  Love your stuff, H-L-L!    Thanks!    :cuddle;   Anja
