Gotta newbie here

My fiance' is now on peritoneal, looking forward to start using the machine. We go tomorrow for his kt/v and pet. He was a transplant receipient 20 years ago. Failed in Aug. started Hemo. They never seemed to figure out his dry weight so the weekends were rough. Just about every Monday morning we were in emergency room with him having severe cramps, blood pressure sky high, not breathing very well, mind you, he has congestive heart failure and the excess water was not helping that problem. Aug 20th I almost lost him. Back in ER this time breathing was worse, they had to ventilate him, he was uncontrollable. Blood work came back, they discovered he had had a heart attack 7-10 days prior. 3 blockages in the "widow" maker vein. Those are fixed now no luck on the backside of his heart, it is completely blocked. Anyway, they finally have his dry weight figured out and after 2 weeks in the hospital, we are keeping everything in control with the peritoneal. It has definately brought the stress level down on both of our parts. I have been off of work since this all has happened, I go back Monday though and I am dreading it cause I won't be here to help him out if needed
