Sending prayers for those in Ike's path.  This one is very scary.   Stay safe  :grouphug;

Hi guys, haven't checked in for awhile.  Miss me??  I have missed you, but feel too many posts get me down to read every day as I was.  Am i alone in that?  Thought I would chime in on Ike... It is 8:45 here and no big deal yet.  I am in Houston, but on the Northwest side.  As fare as you can get and still be in Houston.  All of our neighbors are here, we plan to wait it out.  We did buy a generator but leaving it in the box in hopes we don't need it and can return it later.  The stores and banks all closed down today and coastal towns are evacuated.  No rain here yet, but wind has picked up.  We have a brick home, so family will stay under the stairs in a large closet (the kids think it's fun!)during the night hours when Ike is expected to make it's way up this far.

Hope everyone else in the area is well... see you on the back side of the storm - baring we have power.

Looks like it's gonna get worse in the next 2-3 hours. I'll probably be up all night watching TV and worrying about you guys down there. That means I'll probably sleep through dialysis tomorrow.

I did what flip did. I stayed up till early this morning. It looks like most of the power was lost at about 2:45am this morning. I'm doing nothing but praying for twirl and MI. The pictures they are showing are horrible. We are thinking and praying for you guys.  :grouphug;

Sure hope twirl and MI are ok.  I'm watching CNN right now and seeing some of the damage. Looks awful. Sure glad I live so far north that hurricanes don't often reach us and if they do they are almost petered out!!!  I'll take a snow storm any day!!!!
