Hello there all I am not a dialysis patient I am a RN that has been a nephrology nurse for 20 years. I am always searching the web for info in renal issues and visit several tried but true sites. Just found this one in the past month. I do PD training currently, having switched from in center hemo two years ago. Ran a clinic for 13 years as DON. Love this site-it gives me insight into patient concerns as well as learning new things - for instance, about NxStage and buttonholes. I thinik the wave of the future is more patients doing home self care dialyusis and I plan on being right there to support them. If you don't want an RN trolling your board don't be shy. I can't claim to know what you are going through but have nothing but respect for dialysis patients and love my job too. Thanks!

Welcome, Jersey Girl! We are glad to have you on our forums. We have a few people here who work with dialysis and are not patients themselves. Feel free to post. Give us your perspective from time to time. We believe that the more workers in the dialysis field get to see things from our perspective, the better they will be able to do their job well. Could you just read the General Discussion section where we have the site rules? One thing we would like is for you to go to your profile and fill in your gender and general location. [We even have a section for workers in the dialysis field where they can vent, and rant, and rave when they need to!!]

Welcome to our site JerseyGirl. This site covers most aspects of Kidney Failure and if it doesn't then bring it up. If you want to take your mind off work then go to the GAMES and try a few.

Welcome, to the site. You are more than welcome here, to post and reply to any post. We even have a section where YOU as an employee can go and rant and vent. Of course you can rant and vent anywhere on this site, I just thought I would give people employed in the dialysis field a place to call their own. I really wish more nurses were like you, and want to try to make a difference. Some are in nursing just for a job and not to help people. Again welcome to the site. Be sure to check out our sister site http://ilovenxstage.com to learn more about the NxStage. Oh, and all I ask is that you please read all of the threads in this section: http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?board=31.0- Epoman Owner/Admin

Welcome to the site JerseyGirl. I was on CAPD for nearly 13years had five tubes in. At the end had to stop CAPD was not draining out right, plus my lab results were going up. So I have been on Haemo for six years now. But one year into haemo I got EPS a rare site effect of long term PD. Are so is thought, no one really knows yet.
