I had Eliza and Cylex tests done on Tuesday. My coordinator called and told me my Cylex numbers were a little high and upped my Prograf. Does anyone else have regular tests for immune function? How often are you tested? I get tested every three months.

A major problem in immunosuppressive medicine is that it is extremely difficult to determine how much immunosuppression is necessary to prevent rejection and how much is achieved by the immunosuppressive drugs used. Cylex gives some answer to these questions by measuring the amount of cellular immunity able to be expressed by the blood of the immunosuppressed patient. There are other branches of the immune system, however, which this does not measure, but at least it provides some rough indication of what is going on.

No; it is not the policy at my transplant follow-up clinic.

Thank you for answering. I am not really familiar with Cylex, even though this is the third I've had done. I usually don't hear anything back from Transplant Clinic.
