going to the hospital
«

Ok so since they switched me to Prograf, I have had ridiculously bad diarrhea and some minor vomitting. I've lost 14lbs in the past two weeks and can't eat anything. We're suppose to test this week for infections that would be found in the stool and if nothing shows then I'm switching to Rapamune I guess. I took a few days off work since I've been feeling really bad the past 2 weeks and tried working tonight. I was kidding myself to think I could work after not eating for a few days and losing so much weight. I almost passed out at work tonight and when I tried to eat I almost threw up. I called my doctor and he said I should go to the hospital. I have tried so hard to stay hydrated and everything but I just can't keep up with my body. I hate missing work and feel like I'm letting so many people down. I will be in the hospital for at least a couple days maybe a week I guess. I don't know....I just want to find a medication that I'm not so damn sensitive to!!!!!!!! Sorry, I just had to rant a little, I have just a mix of emotions right now. I'll check back when I can.

Oh Roxy, that sounds just awful. Are they checking for VRE? I hope they figure it out - be careful about dehydration. Sending you some big HUGS!

Thank you guys for all your comments. I just got home and do feel better. When I got in my creatinine was 3.4 and BUN 40, so I was very dehydrated. All of my levels were low as far as phos, potassium, etc. They got me stabilized enough to where the creatinine has come down to 2.4 and I'm still just a little dehydrated but I will fix that. I started Rapamune today and will slowly come off of Prograf as the Rapamune gets to the right level in my body. So far Cyclosporine and Prograf do not like me, but hey third times a charm right???
Maybe Rapamune will be the key.

Roxy. Hope you continue to feel better. We are also going through the medication change dance and it is proving to not be much fun. Take care and drink.
