After going at least a couple of months without a cartridge leak, We were getting well settled into the run today when the second set of tests started, I went over and started the BP machine and glanced at the NxStage and saw a large puddle under it, Oh Lord, here we go again, shut everything down, did the manual rinse back and removed the bad cartridge, primed a new one and then proceeded with the rest of the run, but lost an hours time and more supplies. Like all the rest of the leaks we have had, it appears that the leak is from the area around the "welds" for the 2 "bags" for the  Dyalisate. Just when I thought they had this problem under control.......

Sorry to hear of your day.  Been there, done that and can understand your frustration.  What was the lot # of the bad cartridge?

Yes, I called them right away and they will send another box to return the bad one in, I've had so many of these that it is old hat now, pack it into several plastic bags and then drive quite a few miles to take it to a U.P.S. sight (they want me to pay a pick-up fee, or I can give it to any UPS driver, do you know how hard it is to find one when you need one?)

I don't remember them asking to pay a few to pick it up at my house.  Sorry, that stinks.

I have had three since I started back in December, one in the clinic during training and two at home. It is very frustrating especially if it happens early in the treatment, to have to to through all the set up and getting the needles in to have to end treatment. Sucks... >:(
