Yes we (my son & I) watch every one on TV even if we have to get up at a ridiculous hour whenit's in the southern hemisphere!! We have never been to one but would love to go.  I went to a formula 3 once and after a couple of laps had no idea who was leading or anything but the atmosphere was fantastic  :).  Let us know what you thought of it.  We'll be cheering for a  :ukflag; win of course.  Go Lewis!!  :2thumbsup;

My husband and I had the TV on just for noise yesterday, and Rachel Ray's daytime talk show was on. She did a room makeover for a couple who (the man) had devoted an entire room in the house just to his Kiss memorabilia. It was UNREAL how much stuff he had (his wife would only allow him one room). Anyway, Gene Simmons came on the stage with the guy at the end, and the guy got to wear Gene's sunglasses - I thought the guy was gonna lose it, he was so happy! It was just kinda weird seeing a 60-something year old man doing that with his tongue! Eww!

I love Formula One racing.  I like all kinds of racing. We use to go to Indy 500 time trials. Great fun.   I think I feel in love with racing after watching the movie "Grand Prix" with James Garner.

I watched Danika Patrick lead the Indy 500 last year. Very close to Formula One cars.  They sure can go fast.  The Formula One races come the the California Speedway near us twice a year.

I don't follow racing quite like I used to, but I still enjoy it. I've attended the '95 and '96 Indy 500s, Indy practice and qualifications, some Brickyard 400 practice, a monster truck race, and a few sprint and midget car races as well. Ahh, good (and loud) times.

WOO HOO NEW KIDNEY PEEING !!!(Transplant 23/10/07)

« Reply #13 on: March 14, 2008, 11:43:16 PM »

Went to yesterday's practice session. I had forgotten how loud it is ! Just seated straight opposite where they come out of pit lane.

Was extremely hot here in Melbourne yesterday (39c 102.2f), actually we are going through a bit of a heat wave at the mement for this time of year.So I reckon I would have had about 4 litres at the track alone (No chances of getting this kidney dehydrated with me !) They had cooling fans set up in the food areas that also sprayed water and taps where people were virtually having showers for some relief.

Expecting the same sort of weather for tomorrow for the main race and the KISS concert, so takin it pretty easy today, knowing what I have to go through again tomorrow.

Can't wait for the kiss concert and the band guaranteed in today's paper it will be at least 2 hours ! WOOHOO!

WOO HOO NEW KIDNEY PEEING !!!(Transplant 23/10/07)

PART ONE

Well what and event  !

I'll get you into the groove of things. Some of Australia is going through a bit of a heatwave at the moment. The capital city of South Australia, Adelaide has had 15 days straight over 35c (95f ) and Melbourne has had a few hotties in the last couple of days too and yes it is Autumn !

So I meet my cousin Karen in the city at the Casino (free parking lol) and then make our way to Albert Park the location of the race. We were both dressed in red for our support for Ferrari, she was wearing a red shirt, too scared to show her upper arms (all the girls will understand ;)) and me totally over body image after all I've been through, dressed in a singlet.  Hey I'm all for comfort over looking good when its bloody 40c (102.2f )

We get there and the first thing we buy is a grand prix survival kit, contained ear plugs of course, band aids, sunscreen and paracetamol.Then we made our way to the merchandise stores, I wanted a Ferrari hat to show my support. So I say Hasta la vista to $55 bucks and then we make our way to the course, and load up with water at $4 for about 500ml. A warning for people on dialysis don't read the next sentence, I don't want to upset you guys. By the end of the day I had bought 8 of these.

Anyway we made our way to the grandstand, and got into our pole position. We were right opposite pit lane, and right opposite where the podium is. Pre Race entertainment was great. Involved a lot of flyovers by planes and jets. OK for you nerds out there I better get technical, now I hope you guys understand this. There was a Roulettes aerial display, a Qantas Jet Fly Over, and my favorite F/A-18 Jet Aerial Display. From Albert Park there is a great view of our city skyline, and it was the bomb watching it fly through,do its thing and then the noise, vibration through your body and the feel of it ! WOOHOO ! - guys if this is how I talk about a plane are you wondering how I talk about the real thing ???;D

Then it was time for what we were supposed to be there for the Formula One. So all the Lil floozies come out to do there thing, you know make the guys woof whistle and so forth while they hold a flag or a stick (BIG DEAL  ::) ) A local singer, Vanessa Amarossi sung the National Anthem, then it was time for the guys to do there thing. 58 laps and a lot of people with sore necks later ( watching them wiz pass) there were 7 cars left. At least we had plenty of action, hey I don't think us girlie's would have lasted otherwise lol.
Then came the champagne spray from the boys on the podium. Hope you can see I rushed that bit, I'm trying to get to  :-* KISS  :-* lol

There was a gap of about two hours until KISS, so we had a bite to eat , and then made our way to the stage, with about 80,000 out of the 100,000 that watched the race.

SHIT P.S to be continued I just looked at the time, it's nearly nigh nighs time  lol

PART TWO

Was still relatively hot for 7.00 at night, and dusk was about to set upon a scorching hot day and the crowd was growing restless. I'm still not sure if it was because they were waiting for the show to start, or the massive line for the beers.
Well everyone was waiting for them to get on stage,and then some silly people thought they would play a trick on the ones at the back of the crowd. They stood up, so row by row we all
followed. So now who was the silly ones, the ones that started it, or the ones that got sucked in ????

Anyway at about 7.30 a massive  :-*KISS :-* flag came down in front of all the stage and marked the beginning of the KISS Alive/35 World Tour. Everyone went wild. Paul Stanley then said  you wanted the best you got the best, then they were into their 1st lot of songs. Don't actually know a lot of their songs to be honest. But what songs I do know they were great. The rock anthems were awesome, I was made for lovin you, I wanna rock n roll all night, Shout it out Loud.

The guys looked great from a distance but on the bigscreens all me and my cousin kept laughing about was Paul's Man Boobs  :rofl;
Gene Simmons was doing his best to whip this frenzied crowd into mass Kissteria, Fire from his mouth as well as blood. Paul said KISS will keep playin as long as you guys want, I did the action of an ol man walkin onto the stage with a walker to my cousin had her laughin as she was at a concert of theirs when she was 16, 29 years ago.

Near the end of the show Paul asked the audience if he could join us, of course there was an uproar.Paul flys onto a platform into the distance from the stage and performs Love Gun.

There was a bit of a break and then they performed their last three songs to fireworks. Shandi, I was made for lovin you and Rock n Roll All Night.

The guys did great with I Was Made For Lovin You, and once again the crowd went wild.

Rock N Roll All Night was full of sparklers, fireworks and an absolute ton of confetti.

What can I say what a great day, who goes to a Formula One Race and then to a KISS concert all in the one day WOOHOO! lil ol me !  :clap;

P.S I'm pretty close to my cousin Karen. She has had to spend days when we have gone out in the passed going out at times when I had to have breaks every five minutes. Then to have a day as full as this even with those weather conditions and I was still pumped after and raring to go. She was spinning out at my energy level, actually telling me to slow down. Hey I think I'm the Tamara of old before my kidney failure and BACK TO ATTACK !!!  (good Lil boy Allan's kidney keep doing what your doing lol  :2thumbsup;
