Hi all- I am starting at school tomorrow and I have a problem; My parking permit has to be on the OUTSIDE of my car and my dad was cleaning off the cars this morning and he accidentally scraped off the permit. I have the permit and everything but I need to put it back on my car- any idea how? It needs to be on the outside and it's freezing out so it's not sticking well, and plus its kinda ripped but its on a piece of paper and its back together. Should I just put some clear tape over it and hope it stays put? Or the other option is getting a new one, which isnt that big of a deal.

I would take it into the office first thing in the morning and get a new one. Ask them if you get a ticket tomorrow morning while you are resolving this could they dismiss the ticket as well.

I think you may have answered your own question by saying that getting a new permit isn't that big of a deal.  Although, when you park the car y ou might want to tape the permit where it is suppose to be and hope it sticks while you acquire the new one.

Crossing fingers you don't get a ticket tomorrow.

I agree with Sluff. Good luck with it, I know the security guards on campuses can be nazis about these things!

I don't get the rule that it has to be mounted on the outside of the vehicle. Come on with weather or people walking by ripping it off doesn't it make more sense to have in the car. I don't know just seems more senseable...Boxman

So my dad put it on the inside of my car- it is visible and I will get a new one if I get a ticket tomorrow

karen, I hope you don't get a ticket over something as simple as a parking permit. They can't be bored can they?  :)
