Bad sleep patterns seem to be part of the package.  Take the Lasix first thing in the morning and by evening the effects will be less.  Tell your doctor, he may be able to adjust your meds.  Hope you find solutions and get some sleep.

Its possible it isnt your tablets. I am not on any like that, but have to get up several times in the night to go to the loo! . I was told that because you are lay flat the fluid in your body can gather in the mid section , thus pressing on your bladder and make you go to the loo alot. Every nght without fail one hour after i have gone to bed i am up again going to the loo , then several times during the night. Also you tend not to sleep well anyway. Sorry no answers but its dammed annoying isnt it.

I agree, take your diuretics in the morning so it works all day.  Doesn't do you any good not getting any sleep because you gotta pee every two hours!

i'm prescribed my diuretics 2@day, 1 in the morn and 1 towards the evening. I think my DOC. thinks it's more important for me to get some fluid off, rather than SLEEP !!!  ha-ha-ha     hope i won't need the "PEE PILLS" after i start dialysis ???

You shouldn't. I stopped several medications after starting dialysis, diuretics being one of them.

Don't know what time you take your second diuretic pill, but maybe if you take it around 4-5PM it would do its work in the evening and let you get a bit more sleep. Assuming you take your first pill by 8 AM.

After a while on dialysis, you will not remember what it is like to pee!!

Greetings - I was also on diuretics twice a day.  I took one in the AM with breakfast and one at noon.  My doc told me they last about 6 hours in your system (I'm sure it may depend on the strength of the med).  So if I took one late I would not take one within the six hours before my bedtime.  That really helped knowing the time thing.

Good luck.

I wish i could pee!! I pee once a week and it is very very little. Hey at least i don't have to pee in a cup when i go to the docs!   :2thumbsup; and the fact that i don't have to run to the bathroom every five minutes. When my kidneys were declining i peed allll the time.
