I take Amlodipine (generic for Norvasc) 5 mg qd.  I order these from RightSource for a 90 day supply.  The first two times I ordered them they were a small, light blue tablet with A 9 on one side and an M on the other side.  My most recent order came and the pill is different.  It's now a white, 8 sided tablet with a 5 on one side and G1530 on the other side.

I'm concerned that this is not correct.  Anyone else take the 5 mg Amlodipine and experience this change?   :thx;

Also, I did go on-line, but the photos of the pill would not show.  I don't know if it's my computer or their website

I found the white tablet using google images but could not find the blue one, From the info you have said about the white one it seems correct that it is norvasc 5mg.
But I also found a useful pill identifier. It asks you for any imprints, color etc and it tells you what it could be.

Hope this helps  :grouphug;

I would check out the link Tamara gave, but I would also call the pharmacy and confirm. I got a different pill one time, didn't check, and ended up in the hospital twice in two weeks. Turns out, my prescription was for a BP med, and they gave me an anti-seizure med - and a huge dose, at that. During the second resulting ER visit, my creatnine, which had been 8 two weeks prior, was 13. I was put on emergency dialysis that night. What I'm saying, is PLEASE check it out. Ask questions, bug the pharmacist!

Thanks to both of you!  How terrifying, KT!  That was my big fear!

And, yes, tamera, that is the white pill I have!  I need to check on the little blue one.  I'll take it to my local pharmacy!

we have had a couple that look different- when I took them back and questioned the pharm. guy he said it was just a difference in manufacturers, and showed me the difference. so don't get too upset until you find out for sure..

Double check ..Amoldipine only comes in 5mg and 10 mg strength. I have also had different named tablets but it usually says (amlodipine) somewhere , it usually just a different brand.

Check your prescription bottle.  All my meds now print on the side a description of the medicine.  It gives the color, the  code number and the manufacturer.  If the manufacturer changed from your last order then the color probably changed also.  But call the supplier and confirm before taking any.

Let us know what you found out.
