Auburn hospital she was going to.

So, my nine yr. old niece has been having abdominal trouble for years but there was a new pain that started several months ago. My sister took to the hospital in Auburn like 20 times in the past three months. One doctor even had th audacity to say that my niece just didn't wanna go to bed. The ER doctors never bothered to do a simple urine test. Even after knowing that there is a family history of kidney disease and diabetes.

Kaya's dad loves her but he doesn't make good decisions when it comes to his daughter's health. Last weekend Kaya had been running fevers off and on and was complaining again abt the pain and called Kelli. Kelli told him to take Kaya to the ER. Chris refused and Kelli was ready to go over and take Kaya herself but Kaya calmed down and wasn't running a fever so they let is slide.

Well earlier this week Kaya woke up screaming and crying in pain. My sister called my dad and said listen to this and he said, "I'd take her in!" Kelli said she was going to but not to Auburn. She drove all the way to Tacoma's Good Samaritan's Hospital. The doctor there asked Kaya the right questions and figured it out right away. She has a bladder infection that spread to both kidneys. Doctor said the level of infection in her urine was the highest he's ever seen in anyone! So, she's had it for quite some time! Of course now Chris feels like an ass for not taking her but it probably won't make any difference in the future. Besides he would've just taken her to the same place. Kaya's stepdad has been staying home with her all this week because she's on bed rest and like three antibiotics that she has to take 4 times a day.

Kelli told her current husband that is exactly how they treated, Krisna when she was a kid. Telling my parents she was playing sick to get out of school! She's pissed because if it had been left untreated....well let's just say she thought abt me and I've gone through over the years.

Doctor says she should be fine though!

An awful experience for a child and the parents.  >:(  >:(  >:(

I went through a similar experience several times and I can attest as to the pain.  I was an adult having numerous urine samples return a report that said everything was normal and clear.  When I finally convinced the doc to let me bring in a first morning clean catch it came back with traces of protein and blood, and white cells TNTC (too numerous to count).  After that I insisted ever symptom of UTI be checked with first morning clean catch and a culture and sensitivity test.  Maybe they need to do that with your niece from now on?

That sucks hope she feels better. For over a year I've been telling the Dr's Dani always was complaining of leg pain, and they ALL said it's growing pain, well they finally said she's anemic and now that she's on Iron pills and her Hemoglobin is over 11 her leg pain is almost gone!!!!! It sucks when as a parent your concerns are overlooked.

I'm saying prayers for a full and fast recovery. Hate to think of a kid being sick.
