G'day....I found this in reference on the U.K. Kidney Patient Guide Bulletin Board
I'm 57 in March, was born & brought up in Wales U.K., moved to Queensland, Oz
in Aug '80. Married, 2 kids (27,23, hardly 'kids' any more eh? :)), kidneys were
going downhill since the early 90s (but I wasn't aware) and finally packed in, late
'03. I had a Tenkhoff put in in Feb '04, almost immediately started dx, had it moved
in April'04, as it was taking too long to drain. After a crap year of feeling about 90%
dead, we decided (nephrologist & me) that I would have to go to haemo.
So a kinda repeat year - fistula op in Feb'05, moved ('cause it was too deep & too far
around under my arm) in April '05. Started Home Haemo training in late July'05,
got machine installed @ home Nove'05.
AS I've said to friends "the only reason I never did "H" in the 70s, was 'causa having
  to stick needles in my arm!!!! :D :D " ...and now I stick 2 big'uns in semi-daily!  :(
I was thinking of getting a tee-shirt made up with "WALKING DEAD MAN' on it.  ;)

Hey Bear,

Welcome to this site.  It is a place to vent about dialysis as well as share experiences.  I think you are the only "Home" hemo patient on the site.  I wish more people would try home hemodialysis.  I would do it if I had a bigger home and a partner.  :-X

Please feel free to start a thread about Home Dialysis and what you think of it.   :)

Welcome Bear to the site I hope you come and post often. And please help us spread the word about our site. Take a look around and you will see that this is the site to come and vent, rant and to let out the frustrations about being on dialysis. We will never edit your posts like other sites. On this site you get the straight answer from people just like yourself. Sometimes a reply may be harsh but it is reality.

Welcome
