Which island?

Do you know the area? I live on Hornby Island, the most beautiful of all the Gulf Islands, floating between Vancouver Island and the mainland (north of the San Juan Islands, for you US-types). Living in the midst of all this natural splendour takes alot of the bite out of kidney failure -- even though I'm tired all the time, I can still walk on the beach and life feels very worthwhile. I just hope I get to stay here through all the ups and downs to come.

Welcome aboard from another Canadian.  My GFR is also around  22  and  I am tired a lot as well.  Its  hard for other people ( not here )  that have good kidneys to understand.  We look OK so we are just expected to he perfectly healthy.   Do you still work ?   Lets stay in touch.    :canadaflag;

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.

You said it! I went and checked out the pics of the Virgin Islands on your website -- what a beautiful place! Do you find that being close to nature helps you get through your day?

Welcome aboard from another Canadian.  <snip>   Do you still work ?    :canadaflag;

Hi Razman, great to see so many other Canadians here, and people from all over the world! I guess Toronto is about as far from my little island as you can get in Canada (in size if not geographically). I do still work, but only part time -- the fatigue and confusion mean I can't do alot that I used to. How do you cope with it?
