Great to hear frankie!

If I had a camera with me at the time (and knew I would see it) I would of tken a pic of my moms kidney before surgery. I was rolled in the OR afer my mom was rolled out and saw the kidney, right there sitting in the lovely bowl of ice... it was gorgeous :)

Looking forward to seeing your pic!

I posted a link to pics on a new thread.  I am an 9 days post-op and except for the pain in my back, I feel 100% better.   I had some drainage/bleeding problems that caused me a large hematoma, the loss of blood caused me to have six units of blood in two days.  On the day that the surgeon wanted to go back in thru the staples to stop the bleeding and clean out the hemotoma the bleeding stopped.  I have a huge bruise going from my left thigh, buttcheek across my lower back and even with 2 percocets every 4 hours felt like I hadn't taken anything at all.   Had clinic yesterday, told Dr. of my screaming back, Rx'd vicodin ES.  Its a little better than the percocet but it still hurts,  I remember when I had my bi-lat knee replacements 2 vicodins would knock me for a loop. Those were the days. :sarcasm;  Anyway, my creatinine is at 1.0  Prograf level was low, so they upped it .5  I'll be going to clinic twice a week for a while, thats about it.
My meds list:
prograf  1.5mg   X 2
cellcept  750mg  X 2
labetalol 200mg  X  3
norvasc 10mg
valcyte 450mg
bactrim 400mg
mycelex 10mg
aspirin 81mg
dicloxacillin 250mg
pravastatin 20mg
oh and a prenatal vitamin, go figure.
Now, go!  check out those pics. oh, I almost forgot

Hey Amanda,   Here's an update for you and everyone;  First let me say that Donna and I are doing fine. Thanks for asking. Donna went to clinic with me on Monday and got the OK to drive, transplant coordinator said she should be the "poster child for donors", she looks so good.  I had my staples removed. Creatinine is 1.0   Yesterday I was out shopping w/ Donna when I felt my sweatshirt wet. I looked down and said, "oh shit".   I lifted up my shirt and saw the steri-strips over my incision soaked with blood.  I called the transplant clinic but they were in surgery so I spoke to the Dr. on-call.  I told her that my staples were just taken out yesterday and that I  just noticed the blood while walking a bit.  She asked if I might of banged it and I said no.  She suggested to hold pressure on it for 30 minutes, and if it still hasn't stopped bleeding to have it looked at in the ER.  I told her that I was going to head over now because the hospital is a good 45 minutes away from where I live.  I get to the ER, and a few yada, yada, yadas later a Dr. comes in and starts prodding my incision, ouch!  He tells me that I'm not actively bleeding, and that the dark red/brown blood that is seeping out my incision is indeed,"old blood" from the large  hematoma I got during or after surgery.   I was discharged w/ orders to change the dressing as needed and to follow up at clinic.   My dressing was changed twice and both times the pads were soaked through, but thats ok, it has to come out.  I'll keep you informed.  Until then,
                                                      Peace

   :thx; Thank you ALL for the  :bandance;  :2thumbsup;  :clap;   :cuddle;

this is for you IHD   :grouphug;
