Hi Everyone

I couldn't find any postings about the Kidney Foundation's "Be a Lifesaver Walk for Organ Donation Awareness" and I thought it might be of interest. The annual awareness/fundraising walk is being held this coming weekend (Sept. 22 & 23) in 20 cities across Ontario. Thousands of people including donor recipients, donor families, patients and their families, health professionals, and others will be walking in support of increased organ donation awareness. If you're in one of the participating cities, please consider coming out and walk or roll - bring your friends & family - bring your dog too!!

I will be walking on Sept. 23 (my first wedding anniversary!) with friends & family in memory of my husband Chris (aka Virrat) who passed away very suddenly earlier this summer. Chris received a donor kidney in 1994 that lasted for 7 years.

 :2thumbsup; Together we can make a difference!

Hi Everyone

A quick update on yesterday's Organ Donation Awareness walk. Our team, Carpe Diem Chris, raised over $4000 toward transplant research and the tally for our local chapter of the Kidney Foundation was over $25,500!! The weather was gorgeous, there was a big turnout, the local chapter doubled the funds raised over last year, and got lots of media coverage.  :clap; :2thumbsup;

I've attached an article from the front page of the City & Region section of our city newspaper.

Cheers,
Sandra

You are so inspiring. The picture is beautiful. What a wonderful family Chris had. The article was such a tribute. I have tears---it was a lovely way to honor and remember Chris. :grouphug;
