NEW JOB OFFER FOR KIDNEY OP HERO

By David Taylor
The Sunday Mail

A MAN who lost his job after donating a kidney to his pal has been offered work after appearing in the Sunday Mail.

Big-hearted bosses at blinds firm Thomas Sanderson offered Danny Cassie, 33, a job after reading about his bravery.

Last week we told how Danny gifted life to his childhood pal Mark Edwards, 33, in a landmark transplant.

Legislation was changed in September allowing donations of kidneys between living people not related to each other.

That meant Danny, a match for Mark, was able to give him one of his own kidneys.

But Danny lost his job as a blind fitter while he was at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary in April.

After reading about Danny's plight, Thomas Sanderson's operations manager Graeme McCartney contacted the Mail.

Graeme said: "I was amazed at Danny's courage.

"When I saw he had lost his job, I called my boss and he agreed we should offer him a position."

Yesterday Danny said: "I am absolutely delighted.

I can't believe the generosity of Graeme and his company."
