Does anyone know the name of the scenic route that starts at the edge
of Indiana and goes along the bottom of the state over to the Illinois state line?
I was telling a friend about it and one time I looked it up on the computer and t had
directions for it and now I can't remember what it is called and can't find it on the
computer.  I think it starts on 50 or 156 or somewhere along Ohio River.  Is
anyone from Indiana or know what I am asking about?  Thanks.

MIDWEST
SCENIC DRIVE #4: Illinois/Meeting of the Great Rivers Scenic Route

For the ultimate scenic drive in the midwest, just add water: On the 57-mile-long Great Rivers Scenic Route, you'll travel to where the Missouri, Mississippi, and Illinois rivers meet in the heart of the USA.

Stretching from the midwest towns of Kampsville to Hartford, the route encompasses historic villages, islands, farmland, apple and peach orchards, and forests. In spots where the route rambles between high bluffs and the rolling midwest rivers, you can see water for miles.

Two ferries on this scenic drive add to the sense of travel adventure.

Midwest towns to pause at include Kampsville, home to the American Center for Archeology and a favorite of Civil War re-enactors; Grafton, which has a visitors' center, museum, and antiques shops; 19th-century Elsah, on the National Historic Register and dotted with B&Bs; and Alton, site of the last Lincoln-Douglas debate and where traditional midwest food, drink, and lodging await.

At Pere Marquette State Park there's a stately circa-1930 lodge with a gracious dining room.
