Fibroids?
«

Has anyone experienced any problems with them? I had a slight problem earlier, before dialysis. All of sudden my blood count was going down and I was being yelled at by the nurse (not really), and taking iron transfusions. I just now told her that I had been experiencing some
bleeding with fibroids, which would explain the blood count. Please tell me this is a problem easily taken care of. I am on the patch to
regulate my period.

It could be very simple.
Have a COMPLETE thyroid profile done - specifically request Free T3, Reverse T3, Free T4, and also have cortisol levels and/or adrenal function checked. It would probably be a good idea to have the sex hormones checked as well - testosterone, progesterone, estrogen. It could be as simple as taking an Armour natural thyroid pill and/or a hormone pill to make them shrink.
BTW, many doctors do not test all of the above or use the natural thyroid, so do your homework (especially on adrenal fatigue, hypothyroidism and fibroids) BEFORE you go to get checked.

Hmmm, on fibroids I am an expert! Had them for along time; had a myomectomy done 2000, lasted three years, had episodes of HGB as low as 7, almost passed out at work, bleeding two weeks out of each month, SICK of feeling tired and bleeding so much, opted for a hysterectomy December 2004, was the BEST decision I ever made! Way back in 2000 I saw a MD who suggested a hysterectomy but I did not want to go that route at that time, put up with them for another 4 years before I decided to have the hysterectomy done. Now two years later I am feeling wonderful, PMS has decreased - I opted to keep my ovaries because I did not want to go through premature menopause. Having that surgery definitely gave me my life back.

One of my friends had a hysterectomy two weeks ago because of fibroids-she is already thrilled-she was pretty miserable for a long time. She said it cured the issue.

With all that people have to deal with, then mother nature throw this at them. I had lost 2 units of blood in 2 days. After all kinds of exams and tests, my doctor found it wasn't fibroids. I had hormonal imbalances. I opted to have an endometrial ablasion done. It is not to be done if you still want children. He found a mass and removed it during the surgery (no cancer). I am so glad I did it. I didn't realize how much the kidneys do to keep thing running smoothly.
Good Luck with everything. It is so hard to deal some of this stuff.
