Anyone on manuals that is a high transporter ? What are your times for exchanges? How long do you leave fluid in for ? I had a PET test done a while ago and am a hight transporter . I do 4 exchanges a day . 9am,1pm,4pm,8pm (ish) but find i'm absorbing quite a bit back . Whats your routine ?

I was a high transporter. When I had to do manuals I only dwelled 45 mins at a time... any longer than that and I started absorbing the fluid.

Good luck.

angela .. so what did you do ? leave fluid in for 45 mins only , then remain empty for a few hours? Hospital know i am high transporter but have never said anything about reducing dwell time to me .

I was on the cycler... However, when I had to do manuals, I would do a fill, dwell for 45 mins, drain.. and if I had time, I would do another fill/dwell/drain right after, otherwise I just scheduled it throughout the day, to fit in 4 fills/dwells/and drains. Make sense?

When i first started out on manuals, we found out (after a week and gaining about 10 kilo's)  that i was a high transporter, they immediately got me trained on the cycler, now i have 6 dwells of 1 1/2 hours each.  :popcorn;
