My exit site keeps trying to grow more skin, its now got three big blobs of ugly skin all the way round it, has anyone experianced this and how is it treated ?

Is it flesh or skin. If skin with a sliver nitrate stick. To burn the skin away, The Nurses on the unit should be able to do it for you. I have had it used on the Caths in my neck because skin add gone proud. It does not hurt. Plus helps to stop infection getting under the skin. Had it used a few times while on CAPD.

I am getting some hard skin just where the needles have gone in.  In fact if I wear a sleeveless top, you can see exactly where my needles go in.  I thought it was because my race tends to get keloids very easily.

when talking about the exit site I am assuming we are talking about PD. I had extra growth around mine this time around. The first time I had none and when I got my transplant it ended up looking only like a small bullet hole when I got the catheter out. But this time around when I got it out (switched to HD) it doesn't look like a small bullet hole but a big scar due to it not being so neat and because of the extra growth. I don't know why sometimes are different than other times but it is. I didn't know you could remove some skin.

I had extra skin too but it was quite fleshy. Was a bit painful too. My buttonholes for hemo are quite obvious now when you look at my arm. I get keloid scars too, they are hideous

That is what I am afriad of. Them using my fistula is new so I still don't know how my arm will end up looking
