Hi Friends,
Just got a call from my sons best friend. He is a Match for our son!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only thing they do not match on is the blood type. Dustin is my 21 yr old son that is on diaylsis due to FSGS. His friend that wants to give has been Dustin's bestfriend since elementary. Im scared and excited. Kyle said the transplant team will be getting ahold of Dustin to see if he wants to accept Kyles donation!!!!!!! I guess Dustin would need plaamaphersis??? Anyone of you have this done??? PLease right and let me know!!!

Blood type doesn't have to match.  I was told that anyone with O or B blood could donate a kidney to me.

Congrats on the news!

I had plasmapheresis and IVIg for my positive crossmatch transplant at Mayo...they also do ABO incompatible transplants. Modern medicine in this area is amazing and I'm so happy for your son (and you!) What a wonderful friend!!! :yahoo;
