I'm sure you explained to them that helping your husband while he underwent home D and then TWO transplants are lifesaving measures but are also steps towards having a future with your careers. If you can do ALL that and be there through ALL THAT for your husband, you certainly make a very good employee -one that any company should be pleased to have. Smart, driven, devoted, dependable, unafraid, detail-orientated....I could go on and on. If you are good enough to administer someone's life support treatment (home D) then you are certainly good enough to be employed. Don't be shy about letting them know that you are an asset because of your skills and "drive" that not many others have. Let them know your experience with your husband has made you a stronger person. And if you have to, let them watch a youtube of someone doing home D.
