I am 24 years old living with kidney disease and an overactive bladder. I've been on hemo dialysis for a year and a half and I recently started training to do hemodialysis at home. Due to my overactive bladder I constantly make urine so I do not have fluid gains. I was originally doing hemodialysis twice a week but I have now been doing home hemodialysis training 5 times a week and i have never felt worse. My ankles are swollen, and I've never had swelling. My blood pressure is really high even with medication. At least when I was doing twice a week I had 5 days of feeling good. I can't even go to work now. I'm using the nxstage machine which is supposedly supposed to make you feel really good I have not yet. Just wondering if anyone is having the same problem.

Hi Cheyennes welcome to the site

   :welcomesign;

It is poss you have been prescribed a wrong Sak or Bag type. Each number of bag (RFP?) or Sak has a specific amount of Potassium (K+), sodium etc. Ask for a blood test, or have a look at them, or your Learned One, and see what's out.

Good luck, Cas
