I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Burns. I have CKD. I was on dyalisis for 6 mos when my kidneys bottomed out to 0. But THEY started working again. And now EGFR IS at 20.

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left

1983 high proteinloss in urine, chemo, stroke,coma, dialysis
1984 double nephrectomy
1985 transplant from dad
1998 lost dads kidney, start PD
2003 peritineum burst, back to hemo
2012 start Nxstage home hemo
2020 start Gambro AK96

       still on waitinglist, still ok I think

WOW!!! And welcome to the site also.

20% I wasn't sick yet, but that is when I started PD at home as my legs were swelling soo fat and leaking daily that I often got those nasty infections landing my bottom in the hospital 2 weeks at a time.

Are you continuing treatments or are you without physical symptoms well enough to avoid treatment for a while yet?

Read up on 'Renal Diet'.  Reducing the renal load may extend the time before your kidneys reduce function, possibly far far longer than you imagine.
