The article discusses how a purifier that is used for hemo-dialysis was used on an Ebola patient. Very interesting. Hope the link works (I'm not all that tech-savvy, sorry).  If not, google "Patient cured of Ebola in Germany treated with biofiltration device"

Husband had ESRD with Type I Diabetes -Insulin Dependent.
I was his care-partner for home hemodialysis using Nxstage December 2013-July 2016.
He went back to doing in-center July 2016.
After more than 150 days of being hospitalized with complications from Diabetes, my beloved husband's heart stopped and he passed away 06-08-21. He was only 63.

That looks like a great step in the right direction!  I wonder why they hadn't tried it earlier with other viruses.  Like HIV.  They didn't mention cost, although what price can you put on saving a life?

I looked up the company and this filter was developed for his and hep c.  The theory was that if you lower the viral load on a patient the medicine has a better chance of working.  For this Ebola patient the theory seems to have worked.  Amazing story.
