Vomiting on first few days of CAPD

Mike started dialysis 2 months ago today. I was just recalling his first few days of dialysis training...
They had done the catheter flush, which went well.
But when they 'filled' him up, i think it was 2000ml (Or you guys might have 2kg?), he started vomiting. Then when he was drained, he was fine. Filled up... vomit, drain fine. The diaysis nurse was a tad worried, bu we just assumed it was his stomach getting used to it?

Day 2, fill up.. he was fine, drain.. vomit. And so on. The nurse had him admitted to the hospital overnight to go on the APD. I must admit, we were pretty ticked off! The nurse was telling all the doctors hehad symtoms of uremia, when for how many years of Mike having end stage kidney failure, he had 0 symptoms!!
So we had to keep telling the doctors it was his stomach getting used to it, which they understood. Some people felt like they had to go toilet badly on the first few days, obviously this nurse never experienced the vomiting side of things LOL!

Vomiting is a common thing , it can happen at any stage and at any time , still after nearly 5 yrs of dialysis i get days i  It may be his stomach isnt used to the volume yet , to be honest i and alot of other people had more problems with constipation (he isnt is he?) that would also make him sick . Best as well to eat small meals till his stomach gets used to it , maybe even ask for a smaller fill volume? What amount of fluid does he carry now? I could never go over 1800.

Ah, you see it was only the first two days of the dialysis training. I was kind-of venting about the nurse, and how she assumed he had uremic symptoms.. haha. We even asked the nurse for a smaller fill volume but she didn't see the point! 
He's not consitpated, nor has he ever been. Which is a good thing, right? 
He carries 2000ml, which has been the same since day one. He's very slim too, which was hard at first!

Initially, I felt uncomfortable filled with just 1000. Occasionally, when I wasn't doing well and I was uremic despite being on CAPD, a fill would make me vomit.

These days, I fill with 2000 and it's pretty much fine, but the first fill of the night sometimes makes me mildly nauseated, especially if I've eaten a big meal. But several years of kidney disease have given me a high tolerance for nausea... mind over matter.

Mike used to be on these revolting calcium pills that you had to dissolve in water, i think he was on about 30 of those alone a day, which he had to drink with copious amounts of water, he was very much the same. In the end it was definitely mind over matter.
