Hi,My name is Anthony. I am posting on behalf of my Father, Frank. My dad will be 83 years young and does not have the computer skills to navigate this site so I am here on his behalf. We live in the Chicago burbs. He started HD in October, 2013 and this was due to a long battle with trying to avoid HD. The battle started when Frank survived 4th stage renal cell carcinoma that spread to his lungs. They removed his right kidney but the cancer already spread to his lungs. If you don't believe in miracles, you should because I saw one happen. After three weeks of chemo they had to stop treatment because it was causing issues with his heart rhythm. He was being treated at Univ of Illinois. The next 3 months we all watched in amazement as the lung tumors reduced in size, without additional chemo until they were gone. (I am sure at this point, I sound like a whack job) His left kidney was compromised at the time of surgery but nobody thought he world out live its function. We were all wrong, mainly his doctors. Frank is clearly an exceptional patient and we are posting here today because we have a bunch of questions about this new chapter. Regards,Frank and Anthony
