Goofynina and Epoman - Gone But Not Forgotten

WWW
« on: March 13, 2007, 08:15:27 AM »

I attended a Creative Writing Workshop for teachers.  What was different was that instead of just feeding us information, they asked us to do some creative things.  We had to write a poem that celebrate something, anything.  This was mine:-

         REDISCOVERY
I have been given a chance
again
to see the world through a toddler's eyes.
Grandma, why?
questions, sub-questions, embedded questions..
why? why?? why???
the first meeting with a bug...
the first dip in the sea...
exploring the bushes down the hill...
conversing with Grace's parrot...

But
that day,
after the morning drizzle -
the sun regaining its position ,
was cause for a special celebration -
His first rainbow!
Grandma, look!

No 'why?'

Just awe...

Ah yes the true reason for procreation. To give new meanings to eyes that have seen it all. Through the eyes of a child we see the bright colors once more and draw simple meanings to our remembrance once more.

Nice writings Bajanne.

Very cool poem.  I love the awe at the end.  Kids are just that way!

I like that poem. Sometimes that's all you can do, just enjoy the moment
or the experience. Very perceptive of you, Bajanne.

I work with 4 year olds and everyday they help me look at the world with awe and wonder. They are why I drag myself to work, while others are telling me to stop. Today a little boy gave me a leaf - he thought it was beautiful and so do I. I hope I always can look at the world thru a childs eyes. Adults become too jaded and forget how much delight we can get from simple things around us.   Lovely writing, Bajanne. Thanks for sharing with us.

 :2thumbsup;  Beautifully done Bajanne  :2thumbsup;
I think you should write more often (and post them of course) ;)
You truly have a comforting way of getting your point across  :)
