Clinic update from this morning; numbers again are good and still not having any pain. Creatinine down to 1.2 which is excellent. Next appt next Tuesday. Down to once a week! The new kidney is working great, as evidenced by my creatinine numbers. Working on getting my fluid intake up to 2L a day, that's been tough after 2.5 years of limiting my fluids, but I'm getting there. All in all, I'm very pleased with the progress.

I am a caregiver to my wonderful husband, He is 4p and started PD October 2013. We have several living donors waiting to be tested for a transplant. Dialysis is a bridge to get us where we need to go.
He had a transplant in November 2019.

Congrats on the happy kidney! As gets quoted often by my family (thanks to my siblings' pediatric nephrologist), "A happy kidney is a hydrated kidney!".

March 2007 - Brother diagnosed with ESRD, started dialysis 3 days later
April 2007 - Myself and sister also diagnosed with Senior-Loken Syndrome (Juvenile Nephronophthisis and Retintis Pigmentosa)
Since then, I've tried PD three times unsuccessfully, done In-Center hemo, NxStage short daily, Nocturnal NxStage, and had two transplants. Currently doing NxStage short daily while waiting for a third transplant.
Married Sept. 2011 to my wonderful husband, James, who jumped into NxStage training only 51 days after our wedding!
