Hi everyone. Glad I stumbled on this site, thanks to a link from a post I saw on Metafilter.

Complete newbie here...started dialysis about 2 weeks ago. I was diagnosed with IgAN back in 2001. Kidney function slowly declined over the years until finally, my nephrologist had me start dialysis, twice a week. Started on 17 gauge newbie needles, but today moved up to medium sized 16 gauge. Woohoo. Shout out to anyone else going to the FMC Mission Viejo center.

Looking forward to the resources and advice available on this forum.

I am a caregiver to my wonderful husband,  He is 4p and started PD October 2013. We have several living donors waiting to be tested for a transplant. Dialysis is a bridge to get us where we need to go.
He had a transplant in November 2019.
