Required Donation?

As the picture states, there are more than 120,000+ people on the transplant list, and the number of donators is quickly dying out!

Theoretically, the donors aren't dying out, but as we grow into a more ignorant, exponentially superstitious period of time, less and less people are opting-in on donation. As well, people aren't dying as often enough to save these amounts of unfortunate people suffering their fate waiting on a listing that bases you on your ability to live.

How can we solve this issue? I've got two ideas.

Required Donation
Frankly, this idea of registering to be an organ donor is such a terrible way to do it. You have many cultures that just don't believe in that, but it is total nonsense of why! The thought of saving as many lives fits well into the Bible and Torah (maybe not so much in the Koran, as they have to kill the 'infidels'), so why wouldn't they agree? We're also coming up with so many excuses as to why someone can't donate. Why not make the donation process required until a doctor's note is written with the ineligibility to donate listed. As the note surfaces into the Healthcare system, a determination would be (Excuse my pause, medicine break!) discovered deciding whether or not the reasoning of the patient or doctor is justifiable to the possible life loss. For example, if the reasoning was "I do not believe in organs taken after death", it would not be justified through the services of Healthcare, and the request would be denied. If a legitimate reason (i.e AIDS, Sickle Cell, Cancer etc) came along, it would be accepted and you would be removed from the donor registry.

Opt-Out Policy
A much simpler, more effective way would be achieved. As we all know, you must register to be an organ donor through your license registration or renewal. What if, instead of being excluded from the donor registry, you were already included from birth as the Birth Certificate passed federal lines? Then, when registering, you could say you didn't want to be a donor. Theoretically, this would allow for a greater percentage of donators, as the Donator option is usually not stressed in Driver's Licensing buerous. Therefore, most people wouldn't even know they were registered unless they knew the options. (Like Obamacare!)

What do you think? How would you suggest increasing the donor registry percentage?

I love your enthusiasm and ideas iKAZ3D!  Unfortunately, nothing is ever as simple as it sounds lol!  We are such a litigious society, the number of lawsuits would clog our courtrooms for years.  As I am one of those waiting, I would love to see any one of your ideas work.  If there were a simple way to fix the problem, I would hope someone would have put it into place by now.  Or, maybe, the world is waiting for a smart, young person to come up with a solution.  Keep working on it!

There are places in this world with Opt Out donor listing.  I think that a person can opt out for any reason, but I doubt most would bother, as it wouldn't be something they would think to do.
