Anytime one of my furbabies  is ill, my vet has me give them baby food (meat only) and pedialyte.
Hope Murphy's doing better.   :cuddle;

I think he's finally rounding the corner.  I knew he was better when he decided to rough up his little sister when she growled at him tonight.  He's used to being bigger and stronger than she is, so it didn't end quite the way he was picturing, but at least he is feisty enough to make the attempt!

I switched back to the cheap food which he loves, at least temporarily.  I'm gradually mixing in a different brand of the medicated food he's supposed to be on, and I'll increase that slowly until he's off the old stuff.  It may take longer, but at least I know he's getting some food in him.  His sneezing and wheezing is going away little by little, too, thankfully.  (Boy, there's a lot a snot in that little head when he lets loose...)

I did try coating the medicated food with tuna.  Ha.  Neither cat would touch it.  Of course.  They won't eat spring water-coated, brand name tuna, but will happily chew on goldfish from the bowl in my living room. I've apparently got two furry little hipsters who support the locavore movement.

I'm glad Murphy seems to be feeling better.  I know what you mean about the food.  When I had to switch my dog to a special food due to food allergies I thought he was going to starve to deathrather than eat the new stuff.  He lost half a pound, and he only weighed 3.2 pounds to start with!  I ended up doing the slow change by mixing the old and new stuff too.  Anyway, I hope Murphy continues to improve and is soon back to knocking his sister around regularly.

I'm glad that Murphy is improving  :flower; As far as diet, there doesn't seem to be any way you can convince a cat to eat even delicacies once they've decided they're not buying it. I had the same problem with Tommy.

My Tuula will only eat baby food (as a treat, no kitty treats for her! LOL!) AND the baby food has to be beef or veal! She won't touch chicken, turkey or ham! Talk about picky! And you know she gets it, too! I can only imagine what someone in the grocery store must think when I buy just 1 jar of baby food!   :rofl;    :rofl;   :rofl;

I am glad that Murphy is finally feeling better!  It's such a stressful thing to go through.

While not exactly a cat, my chinchilla was sick for a month this past May.  The vet advised us to buy baby food too during one of his first rounds of not eating and being sick.  Like CebuShan, I wonder what people think when they see someone purchase one jar of mashed squash.  Anyways, after a lot of weight loss and coaxing the thing to eat, he's better.  The puff of fur will not eat his regular food now.  It must have baby food mixed in as seasoning or he leaves it.  Who does he think he is?   :urcrazy;
