Sorry mate, never happened to me in over 4 years of D (and I never stopped peeing).

That sounds like something needs to be checked out. As embarassing as it may seem you should report that to your neph... that doesn't sound "normal" at all.

Is the ache like a sore muscle ache or more a pain like a searing pain? If it's the later it could suggest an infection of some sort, maybe nasties in the urine - at the very least I think that should be checked out.

good luck....

It almost sounds like a lingering bladder infection. I don't know but I would get a simple urine test done to check. I've had those symptoms in the past and even though it's not as common in men I was getting UTI's when I was younger. Sometimes they would be so bad I would know when I had one but other times the pain was there after or during urination but it wasn't so pronounced and later on I found out it was a UTI. Have a doctor check it out. Good luck.

thank you--probably will have to see doctor--its more like an (uncomfortable) ache than a searing pain

Sounds like a UTI. Easy check and fix if it is.

From my experience it can be uti, bladder infection, or if a catherter was inserted recently and scratched the wall of the urethra can cause the same amount of pain. I would see doc assap before you pass any blood, that's a whole differently odd feeling. Urologist best bet to see IMO.

Good Luck

1. I only produce about a tablespoonful of urine each morning and that's it. (PD for 2-1/2 years.)
2. The first year or so on PD I had pain all the time where the end of the cath was placed. The surgeon told me this was normal and the pain would go away...and it did eventually. (Everyone's situation is different so of course talk to your surgeon or neph.)
