KIDNEY PROS OPENS NEW CLINIC (Riverside, CA)

By Tara Boyd

A new practice in Riverside, Calif., understands that community and convenience are important to their patients. Kidney Pros opened their doors on January 1, in a brand new 6,424 square foot facility that, when complete, will house not only the kidney clinic but a full-service lab and pharmacy as well as an urgent care facility next door.

“Everything is kind of separated, but if you walk in through our main doors, you can walk into any of the facilities—the lab, pharmacy, urgent care or our clinic,” said Komal Iqbal, MBA, clinical manager of Kidney Pros.

The lab, which opened on April 1, will be run by Quest Diagnostics, but Kidney Pros’ patients can still benefit from their services, Iqbal said. “It’s not run by us, but it’s here for the convenience of the patient.”

The pharmacy will be owned by a private company.

By opening in a location that houses all of these medical centers, Kidney Pros hopes to make medical treatment more convenient and comfortable for their patients by offering a one-stop shop for all of their medical needs, Iqbal said.

The urgent care facility next door means that electrocardiograms (EKG) and X-ray machines are easily accessible and emergency care is available to the clinic’s patients, if needed.

The location in central Riverside—the medical hub of the region—also provides easy access for patients from surrounding communities, Iqbal said. The clinic was strategically placed between Riverside Community Hospital and Parkview Community Hospital as well to allow convenient hospital access to patients, Iqbal said.

Kidney Pros moved in and opened their doors a few days after construction on the new facility was completed, Iqbal said. Furnished with brand-new equipment, granite countertops and 4,000 square feet of space, the clinic hopes the new facility will appeal to patients and make them feel comfortable during appointments, she added.

The clinic has four patient exam rooms and three procedure rooms. Each room contains new furniture, nature pictures and space to accommodate for family members who come in with the patient. Rooms are spaced out throughout the clinic to help maintain patient privacy as well, Iqbal said.

Oh, thanks. I thought it might have been the new Azusa on Van Buren Boulevard, across the street from New York Pizza. All I have been able to find out about them is that they are owned by a group of Kidney Drs. and it is also a new building.
