I have really wide feet on any day...yes Fred Flintstone has nothing on me! Well now with the edema in my feet my feet are huge and I as yet can't find any shoes that will fit except some sandals and they are VERY tight where the straps are. Anyone have any idea where to look for some shoes maybe? It's kind of embarrassing wearing sandals ALL the time lol

I have a similar issue.  I have short, wide feet.  As a 35 year old woman, I tend to buy shoes that are designed for 8 year old boys because they are the only shoes that I can find to fit

I am a woman with wide feet since I was 16 years old I have been forced to wears men's wide shoes because women's do not come wide enough. I wear men's sandals most all the time.

for me, a lot of shoes that are wide enough are too long.  I have short, wide feet.  I say that they just go along with the rest of me. *G*

The one option I have if those do not work is an orthotics and prosthetics place where they can take a shoe you like and remake it to fit your feet. Depending on ones insurance, it maybe covered. A podiatrist can also help if a local O&P place does not take walk ins. Plus the sole will conform to just your foot by having support and relief areas for certain parts of your foot.

I was looking at some sandals today that looked like they might be the right length and width for my feet.. the only problem, they were little girls sandals, and they were an ungodly color of pink.

I'm a little late in the discussion but wanted to add the elastic idea.  You see I have one rather thin foot and one much thicker (not wide, just sort of fat on top) foot.  Finding comfortable shoes is really tricky.  If it fits my big foot it truly slides right off of my normal one.  I've resorted to mainly shoes that are stretchy, elastic sort of.  For example my every-day-run-around-tennis-looking-shoes are really made as water shoes.  They are stretchy material because they are made to pull on and off of wet feet.  They really are quite comfortable.  I've found quite a variety of colors and designs online.  This may be too simple of an idea, but if you hadn't thought of looking for this kind of shoe,  may be helpful.   Best of luck in your shoe shopping.
