 :yahoo;

It was a year ago yesterday, the 13th of March, that I got my new kidney. My donor was my wife's youngest sister. She lives a number of hours drive from us. Being the first anniversary of the transplant we wanted her to feel special, and we wanted to do something special for her.

To celebrate this anniversary I got the day off from work. The day before, my wife and I drove a few hundred miles to and stayed overnight in a town nearby where my donor lives. The next morning we drove to her town and picked the dozen long stem roses we ordered a few days earlier. We took them to her place of employment and presented the roses to her. She was shocked and surprised. She loved them and the big surprise.

It was worth all the driving to spend some time with her and give her the roses at work.

Congrats!  And what a great way to celebrate!

Oh, I bet she felt so loved and appreciated!  I'm thrilled for you both!
