Amanda,Please tell me how you talked them into it...I was just denied extended by the administrative board at my hospital. I'm pretty disappointed. "They" say that with NxStage that dialysis doesn't "run" your life; however, I've found that because I work full-time there isn't much time for anything but work, dialysis, and ~6 hours of sleep a night.Anyway, I'm very happy for you!
"They" don't have any clue how dialysis affects a patient's life, NxStage or otherwise. "They" could not find a clue if they drenched themselves in clue pheromones and stood in the middle of a clue field during clue mating season. "They" do not have final say over your quality of life or the modality you choose. Don't take no for an answer. Find a different clinic if you're able and tell them you will take your money elsewhere if they won't co-operate. It's YOUR life. It's YOUR health. "They" have no right to dictate how you will live, period.
