Given I have been on dialysis since age 36, I did not think I would see 50!

Thank you all. My two daughters took me to San Diego Zoo today.  I had a birthday sticker on all day and was wished happy birthday throughout the Zoo.   It was great fun!

Admin for IHateDialysis 2008 - 2014, retired.
Jenna is our daughter, bad bladder damaged her kidneys.
Was on in-center hemodialysis 2003-2007.
7 yr transplant lost due to rejection.
She did PD Sept. 2013 - July 2017
Found a swap living donor using social media, friends, family.

I am 50 this year too and I have been feeling quite down about the idea.  Earlier on, before I read your post, I reflected on the fact that had nature had taken it's course, I would have been dead 24 years ago at the age of 26, and decided that I am going to celebrate the fact too.
