JAHLO! :D I am deniferfer's sister!

WWW
« on: October 10, 2012, 04:34:00 PM »

Hey! I'm Jasmine McClung. Some of you guys may know me as Jennifer McClung, deniferfer, sister! I met some of you at the Las Vegas convention thingy this year. Y'all must have made quite the impression for me to want to create an account and get to know more about dialysis! My sister was diagnosed with kidney failure when I was 6 years old. I grew up with her but it wasn't until Vegas that I realized she and all of you live in a whole 'nother world. I was soo happy to see her with people who understood exactly where she is coming from. Yeah, I'm her sister but I cannot relate to her situation in the slightest. I am so happy Karol created this forum! It saved my sister's life.  :)

Hi Jasmine, welcome to our forum. I am so glad deniferfer has a sister who is so supportive!
One correction however. IHD was the creation of a young man who had been of dialysis for 13 years. Epoman (Bill Halcomb) wanted a place where patients could freely share their stories, rant if needed, and not worry about getting their posts deleted like on other sites run by commercial entities. Family, friends and medical professionals were also welcome. Sadly we lost Epoman 5 years ago, but the admin team runs the forum in the spirit in which it was created. You can read his story here http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=25.0

Hey Jasmine,

Firstly welcome aboard! Secondly, I've heard of you. Your sister told me you're one to watch. We may need to keep an eye on you and all the potential mischief you may cause lol! Just kidding. You Vegas lot with your inside jokes lol. Good on you for being honest enough to admit you didn't realise the impact it had on her life until recently. I couldn't spell "Dialysis" before I was on it and didn't give a monkeys about it lol.

Hi Jasmine,

I drove home with you and your mom and sister from the Olive Garden, remember? It was so nice to meet you and your lovely family -- hopefully we'll be able to do it again in 2013.

So glad you decided to join us on IHD.
