My little sister, she's 35, I'm 37, has just been diagnosed with peripartum cardiomyopathy.  She delivered my baby nephew two weeks ago, and she started having shortness of breath. By the time she go to the ER her heart function was 30%.  Turns out this illness is one of those rare things, sorta like kidney failure at 35, aren't we a lucky bunch? It's related to pregnancy but also her hypertension, which is related to her PKD.  So my question, because the docs in the rural area where we're from don't see much of it, is has anyone on here had it or known someone who has and what was the treatment/outcome?

Thanks!
