Hi everyone!   :)

I had to take a break from here for a little while.  Stuff was becoming overwhelming out in the real world, and I needed a breather.  I missed everyone terribly though, and I hope you all are doing well.

Just to update what's going on in my neck of the woods...

My friend/coworker was murdered last month, but it looks like they caught the guy this weekend.  I am sure you know what a huge relief this is.  I'm still sad and angry as hell, but at least he's not roaming the streets.  The kicker is, he was sentenced to 30 years for a previous attack, served 20 and was just recently paroled.  If he had been made to serve his entire sentence, this never would have happened.  I can't remember if I posted anything about this before, or if Erin might have, but here's links to the beginning and end of this case...

Right after she was killed:  http://www.news4jax.com/news/10821720/detail.html
When they caught the guy:  http://www.news4jax.com/news/11039232/detail.html

I previously wrote about my neck bothering me.  Well after several dr. visits, xrays, and a MRI, I have a referral to see a neurosurgeon.  Not looking forward to it, and the idea of surgery scares the crap out of me (never had surgery before), so I'm hoping I can avoid it if possible.

Joe's been having trouble with his oxygen levels dropping.  They drop when he sleeps, walks, sits down, talks, whatever.  They don't know what is going on, he is schedule for more tests on March 12 I think.  Other than that, he's been ok.  He did have to have the roto-rooter thing done to his fistula recently, but what else is new?

We've been taking pre-adoption classes through the county this month.  We're about 1/2 way through and then we have to get a homestudy done, and then we'll be approved to adopt children in foster care.  Lots to think about, regarding this, but we see it as a step forward.

I think that's about all the updates I have for now.   ;)  I have to go catch up on all the posts I've missed.   :popcorn;

Great to hear from you Sara,

Erin posted about your friend. Sorry for your loss.

I hope the adoption classes end well for you, and that you can help some kids out. It's hard to find good homes these days.

I also hope all the tests you and Joe are going through don't find anything serious.

Thanks for checking in, we've missed you.

Sara, thank you for checking in.  Best of luck on your adoption classes.  It would be great to be a foster parent.  Those kids need good homes.  Please come here for some support for yourself.  We care about you guys.
