DECAF!?!? I don't need no stinkin' DECAF!

« on: February 19, 2007, 01:32:37 AM »

 :popcorn;  Just like a 40's drama:  went to ER for UTI and found out I had 17% kidney function; shortly thereafter went to 12% and started hemodialysis - no decision making, no planning, no argument.                         3 ports in chest
                                       4 failed fistulas left arm
                                       3 failed fistulas right arm
                                       usable graft right arm
Am in hemo dialysis for over a year now and thought at first life had turnedd real ugly and hopeless.  Got a computer and due to ESRD web sites I am finding ways to cope, hope, and smile.  Luv this site and just know I'll be here often.  (...and the wisdom to know the difference...ahh, there's the rub)

Welcome to IHD Sallyd,

You have really been through a lot in a short time, hopefully things will get easier now.

IHD is the coping mechanism for a lot of members here, so know that you are not alone. We have a great chat that you can easily access here;  http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=2688.0

Just for fun you can help us here: http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=2660.0

We also offer Premium membership here are the benefits: http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=1482.0

The best thing about IHD is that we consider ourselves one big family that really understands what we all go through, so welcome to our family.

:thx;  Thanks to all of you for welcoming me to IHD.   I really do feel comfortable and safe here.  Such nice warm fuzzies - I'm in other groups but was never responded to like this.  Just know I'll be coming back often and participating.   ;D  Yippee! Maybe I can speak my piece/peace and find "the Wisdom to Know the Difference."

Going through life tied to a chair!

« Reply #14 on: February 20, 2007, 01:22:44 AM »

Hello Sallyd and welcome to our site.  You have already helped someone.  ME!  I didn't know you could go through so many accesses and still be alive.  What kind of access are you using now?

I always tell people "Dialysis is only as good as your access" so my successful dialysis is limited.  I have bad veins.

Hope you find this site educational as well as entertaining.            :welcomesign;
