Does anyone know if dialysis clinics bill each of them the same amounts?  Does private insurance pay more for each dialysis treatment?  Anyone know?

I know my employer insurance is billed, and the dialysis clinic receives thousands of dollars a month. It is my understanding that it is much more than Medicare pays.

I believe that by the law they have to bill Medicare and private insurance the same amount. The difference then is in what each pays back to the clinic. Every insurance has an "allowable" amount. I don't know the real numbers, but for ex. the clinic bills both insurances $1000. Medicare might give them $450 but private insurance might give them $800.
