So, I worked my trial periods, sending in my paystubs. I made an appointment at the SS office because I wanted to ensure that everything was stopped. When I talked to the representative, they said because I went to work before I was declared disabled one year, that I was not actually disabled and that'll I've have to pay the last 9 months BACK. She said she would put in the paperwork and I would be contacted.

Here's what's crazy - it's been 3 months and I haven't heard anything. Good news, right? Seem like it except they're still giving me SSDI checks! Now, I'm putting them straight into a separate account because I know for a fact I'll have to pay THAT back, but I plan on disputing paying anything else back.

While I can work, I consider myself disabled... mostly because I don't any of my "abled" friends that have to hook to a machine 9 hours every night to keep them alive. Just because I choose a different path shouldn't make me different that someone who does hemo during the day. I really didn't know if I'd be able to work full-time or not, but happens that 90% of the job is sitting in front of a computer (what I would do at home, but they pay me a lot more).

I'm not quite freaking out yet, but I'm not sure of the next steps.

Good thinking, putting the money in a seperate account. When my teen aged stepson decided he wanted to go bak to living with his Mom, I notified Social Security and of course, the checks just kept on a coming. At least you will have the money for it when they decide to come after you.
