Hi I'm Epokid and I'm Epomans 9 year old son and it's an honor to be welcomed to the site even if I'm only a kid. My dad has been on dialysis my whole life. I think my dad is the best no matter what. I love him. I enjoy playing basketball, listening to music, and reading. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Love,
Epokid :) 8) ;)

Hey Epokid,  :D

Welcome aboard.  Your Dad talks a lot about you and how proud of you he is.  Nice to finally e-meet you.  You could be very helpful to other kids who are just experiencing their parent (Mom or Dad) on dialysis.  As you know, this site is for anyone associated with dialysis.  Wheather you are on it yourself, or know someone who is.  It affects anyone it touches.  Hey, have a great summer.

Hi the the new kid on the block ! Hehehe! My daughters have had their mother, me, on dialysis for the last seven and a half years.  They are 20 and 19 now, but they remember what it was like to grow up as teen agers with a sick parent.  If you want their email addys I can send them to you. Maria, my youngest, is very willing to share experiences.  I am just the old fart on dialysis.
She is signed up on here, too. Somewhere.

Epokid, if you don't mind me asking, have their been any negative things about your dad being on dialysis. Why would I ask such a thing? Well I am 32 and don't have children but do want children but I worry about how it would effect children. I love children but me being sick brought problems for my parents who are no longer together. Since I have been sick since birth this has been my life. And so I worry if it would be troublesome to children having me as a parent as I am on dialysis and this is my life forever with the exception of the "Vacation" that transplants are scattered throughout my life.

You should feel very good about yourself being supportive of your dad. I hope one day to have a kid like you (no saying you are a kid but you know what I am saying). Support is very important for any person on dialysis. I am sure your dad feels very lucky to have such a supportive kid like yourself. I only hope that one day I will have that. Support is extremely important. The most important type is the kind that you are giving - Emotional Support. Thank you for being you!

(I hope what I say doesn't sound too dorky but the reason I made my own website a few years ago was because of the lack of support in my life that has made me sort of a negative person lacking support and understanding from people around me).

Angieskidney,  being on dialysis doesnt effect your heart,  as long as you have the ability to love, i think any kid would be lucky to have you, regardless.  Yes, there maybe times when you just dont feel well and cant do anything but that is when they can show their love in return by helping you.  I am 38 years old, have been with my hubby 20 years and we never had a child (not by choice)  but we are fine.  We have 17 beautiful Godchildren, one of them (from down South) came to stay with me for a couple of weeks and she is having a blast,  she now knows how to take my blood pressure, check my sugar,  give me my epo shots and set up the cycler,  she is the perfect little nurse (no i am not running a concentration camp for kids)  lol,  its just something that is in her nature.  I have thought of becoming a Foster Parent myself but i think i would get too attached to the kids and when they take them back, well, i think that would be what would kill me, so, we decided to just spoil our Godchildren rotten (and niece and nephews too of course)  Good Luck to you, keep us informed on your decisions, k...

I hope your talking about the emotional aspect of the heart, because dialysis causes ALOT of heart problems. I know what you mean but I just want people to know for sure you meant the "emotional" aspect.  ;)

Hey Epokid,  Goofynina here again,  I havent been a member here that long but it seems like i know you from all the wonderful things your dad says about you.  In a way, you are one of us (we are like a big ol' family here)  it's great,  what your dad has created here has made not only my life but the life of so many others a little more easier and even a little more comforting,  i love the fact that if i have a question,  i can come here and get the answer(s)  i am looking for.  Everyone here is so willing to share and help others.  So do me and all of us a great big favor k,  give your dad a great big hug for all of us and just tell him "thank you"  k,  thanks for doing that for us,,,,  keep in touch with us k,

Epokid,
Do you want to gross Dad out? Dip a banana in pizza sauce and eat it in front of him.  My girls swear by it!
