Good news that she's up and walking. I also hope that her blood sugars are normal now throughout the bout.

 :2thumbsup; Update on JBeany:
I just spoke to Janel. She's been in the hospital for a month now. Today she's been doing physical and occupational therapy and was pretty tired from all that hard work! She said her creatinine is now 2.8 and the hope is that it will continue to go down. There are no more blood sugar level issues - all is normal - thanks to the lovely new pancreas! She is still retaining a lot of fluid so they will continue to try and remedy that. Janel is very appreciative of the cards and balloons and thanks all the IHD members who have sent her something. I told her we are all pulling for her!

If anyone else wants her address or phone number please send me a PM.

I second the last part.  One of the residents when Logan was in the hospital asked me why Logan was on dialysis.  Hmmmm..... I don't know, thinking we were bored--Had nothing better to do.

That's bad when they are suppose to be the doctors! Haven't you looked at the chart or have studied a little to know why there is dialysis. Dumb :sir ken;

Hi jbeany :waving;

And yes!  Especially when you're in the ER at 3 am after driving 3 hours and he has a hole in his dialysis cath and really just needs to get up to the floor so the dialysis nurse can come and repair it.  Errrrrr.... irritating.  I actually told them, because we were bored.

and hi Jbeany!!!  I hope you are doing well today!  any more updates?    :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:  and some cheerleaders to help cheer you into getting home soon.

 :bump;

Had to come back and reread this today, along with all the other posts on my miserable two months in the hospital, getting my spare parts.  It's been 3 years today!  I've relearned to walk, I survived 4 months of not being able to eat or drink a thing,  and my guts are all nicely tucked back on the inside of me where they belong,  after being visible for over a year under a skin graft.  (And the skin graft didn't go on for ages and ages, so I had a giant open wound for a long time as well.)   I've managed 3 whole years without a rejection episode, even when everything else was going wrong, so I see that a victory, and hope that it means my kidney and pancreas plan to stick around for a long, long time.
