transplant is suposed to be having their meeting today to determine whether or not my brother can donate to me, was suposed to hear last week but Memorial day, waiting for Baxter, so when he comes im gonna call my brother and see if he will call shands and ask. fingers crossed

well, couldnt stand the waiting anymore, had my brother call. the big meeting happens at 330, and should last a few hours. The lady said she would cal him today after the meeting or tomorrow, so im thing more along te lines of tomorrow :stressed; :waiting; :pray;

1984 - urostomy op
1990 - bladder built out of colon
2007 - birth of son, gfr fall from 3O to 26
July2011 - birth of prem daughter, gfr 17%
August2011 - gfr drop to 10%
29th May2012 - RECEIVED KIDNEY 4/6 match from my wonderful dad !

tired, but cant sleep will be happy to finally have an answer tomorrow, i know now they have an answer just have to get my brother to call them. he doesnt want to bother them, but i keep telling him in our world thats what we do, keep calling til we get answers, but he seems reluctant to call, and its funny bc he's tryig to console me and tell me to relax, but im like i will when i get my answer

cool, did u have to pay anything out of pocket for it? they are telling me im looking at about 3 grand. They did say that the american kidney fund might cover my brothers half, but im not counting on it. thats whatr im worried about most right now. im so happy we are a match, i called and told my dialysis nurse, and hes super excited for me :cheer:

I thought there was supposed to be no cost for the person donating. What is the money for? Unless it's for hotel rooms after. But I wouldn't let that amount of money stand in my way.
