Well, that could be very good news, indeed.  One wonders, however, if the thought of saving money for the government has entered this decision process.  Or is it that an artificial kidney is thought to be practicable?  An artificial heart may be more life-saving overall, but our government doesn't spend as much keeping those with end stage cardiac disease alive since those patients by and large have the good fiscal sense to die fairly quickly.

In any event, I'll donate some of my creatinine-laden blood for test filtering if such will help further the project. 

On the other hand, I'm more interested in learning if science is working on the artificial brain.  My wife sometimes suggests I've lost my original equipment.

Clinical trials in 2017. I'll be pushing up daisies by then. Ah well! Good news for you younguns, though.
