Hi, I'm Jessi. I'm 27 years old and was started on hemo in January 2011. I switched over to peritoneal dialysis in August 2011. For some reason I'm having several difficulties with pd and my doctors are trying to work out the kinks. I will hopefully receive my supplemental insurance in the next few months and will finally be referred to the list!!!  :yahoo; And, God willing, all this will be over soon. If there is anyone else that had complications with pd, I would really appreciate any suggestions.

 :welcomesign; innocence6! Glad you found us. Do tell, what issues are you having on PD. I'm betting we've all had issues and can provide some insight as you go forward on this journey.

 :welcomesign; Jessi!

My Blokey had a terrible time with PD; he was desperate for it to work but after a couple of months he had to return to haemoD and get a (very much dreaded) fistula.  They never really did get to work out why his body didn't like PD - hope all your kinks get ironed out.

Hi Jessi, there is a lot of PD experience on IHD and I bet everyone of us had to work out issues at one time or another. Tell us more information and certainly someone can help. Are you doing manual exchanges or are you using a cycler. If a cycler, what machine are you using. Are you using Baxter or Fresenius or another supplier(are there others)? The more specific you are with your problems and equipment the better we can help.

Oh yea,  :welcomesign; to IHD.

Welcome, innocence6!

 :welcomesign;

I've had no experience with PD as my husband did home hemo until his TX.

Best wishes on getting your difficulties all sorted out. There are plenty of folks to help here.
